Few more lunches
So here's another lunch of an everything whole grain bagel with cream cheese, some strawberries, veggies with home made dip, a banana loaf and a drinkable yogurt.
And here's some home made hummus with carrots and flax/quinoa/brown rice crackers, some fruit strips and raisins, and a banana loaf and yogurt. This lunch didn't work out so well...the raisins ended up IN the hummus.
And today she took some home made vegan soup, some banana bread (I made a big loaf this time instead of little ones), and apple and a yogurt.

Tuesday
Today Zoey asked for soup and it just so happened I had made some home made chicken noodle soup on Sunday. So, she took a thermos (with the labels pealing off) of soup, an apple, a yogurt tube and another banana bread loaf.

Friday and Monday
Missed Friday's post but Zoey's lunch was a cream cheese and jam (homemade but not by me) sandwich on whole grain bread, some coleslaw, some grapes and another banana bread loaf (she loves these, as do all the kids, which is why I make so many). Her snacks were the same - drinkable yogurt and a squish'em, but she never eats the squish'em and said she only has time for one snack, so I won't be packing both anymore I guess.
Today she took some laughing cow cheese with some Kashi pita crisps, two pickles (made by my good friend) and some nitrate free, low sodium turkey sausage. For fruit she wanted strawberries. She also got the usual banana bread and drinkable yogurt.

First days of grade one
Well, it's already day 3 of grade one for my little Zoey. I will be posting pictures here of her lunches every day. I try to feed her healthy, well balanced, home cooked lunches most days. This is my goal anyway.
So on day one she had a roast beef wrap made with preservative/nitrate free roast beef, some lettuce and some dijon mustard on a whole grain wrap. She also had some red peppers and carrots with home made ranch dip (made with greek yogurt) and some veggie straws. She also had a homemade loaf of chocolate chip banana bread. For snacks she had an applesauce and a drinkable yogurt.
Day two she took homemade hummus with brown rice/quinoa/flax crackers and carrots to dip. She also had grapes and another banana bread loaf. For snacks she had a squish'em (applesauce) and a drinkable yogurt.
And today Zoey took two hard boiled eggs (she asked for two), shaped of course. She also took veggies and dip, strawberries, and once again a banana loaf. She also took the same snacks (she wants the same ones every day).
So there you have the first three days of school lunches. I will try to post every day with photos.
